Best economic news since Armstrong planted that flag
We were reminded recently of Neil Armstrong and the U.S. flag that he put on the lunar surface. It happened because a silly movie rewrote history to please the P.C. crowds.
Once again, 1969 is back in the news, and I don’t mean Woodstock or that awful song “In the Year 2525.”
Remember when Democrats used to say we should talk about kitchen-table issues? Didn’t we hear that when there were media reports about the chaos in the Clinton administration? Or the dysfunctional state of the Obamacare website?
My guess is that a lot of kitchen tables are talking about this headline from the U.S. economy:
The number of Americans filing applications for new unemployment benefits fell at the end of August to a nearly five-decade low.Initial jobless claims, a proxy for layoffs across the U.S., declined by 10,000 to a seasonally adjusted 203,000 in the week ended Sept. 1, the Labor Department said Thursday. This is the lowest level of unemployment benefit applications since the end of 1969.Economists surveyed by The Wall Street Journal expected 211,000 new claims last week.
Add to this the stories about new jobs and the unemployment rate: “Economy adds more jobs than expected in August, and wage growth hits post-recession high“!
And unemployment is 3.9%! Don’t you remember your Econ professor explaining that 4.5% was full employment? Today employers can’t fill positions offering good salaries and benefits!
Something is cooking out there, and there is no Democrat recipe behind it. We are watching a U.S. economy running on full confidence, and the new president has a lot to do with it.

A US-sponsored coup in Venezuela?
We saw this in The NY Times:
The Trump administration held secret meetings with rebellious military officers from Venezuela over the last year to discuss their plans to overthrow President Nicolás Maduro, according to American officials and a former Venezuelan military commander who participated in the talks.Of course, all sides deny the talks.
At the same time, how much longer can any decent country continue to look the other way?
Just look at the Venezuela-Colombia or Brazil-Venezuela borders! Thousands are desperately trying to leave Maduro's paradise.

Beto is a fraud starting with the name Beto.....
Am I the only who finds it surprising that the left is OK with a white Irish guy who has culturally appropriated the name Beto?
Nevertheless, "Betomania" has exploded in a political party desperately looking for a national figure under 80 years old or one who does not represent an over taxed state like New York or California.
The latest Beto show is about the VFW and the US flag. To say the least, the VFW and the US flag are held in high esteem in Texas.
Check this out:
O'Rourke rented out a Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall in Navasota, TX to hold a campaign rally.The campaign denies the story. The VFW Commander stands by it. My money is on the Commander!
According to VFW Post 4006 Commander Carl Dry, O'Rourke's campaign insisted the VFW Hall take down its American flags.

Looking for AG Sessions.....what are you going to do about Atlanta?
Didn't we fight a Civil War to prevent states and cities from disobeying federal laws? Isn't federal law supreme on matters of immigration?
The resistance has a new star or the Mayor of Atlanta:
Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms on Thursday signed an executive order to permanently stop the city jail from receiving people detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).The Mayor refers to inhumane policies but does say a word about the Obama administration separating families or that Democrat majorities never passed immigration reform.
The order also directs the Atlanta City Department of Corrections chief to formally request that ICE officials transfer all current detainees from the Atlanta City Detention Center as soon as possible.
Let's hope that AG Sessions reminds the Mayor of Atlanta that she does not choose what federal laws to obey or disobey.
