Cuba’s new constitution as bad as the last one
Cuba has a new constitution. However, it’s no better than the last one, according to Andres Oppenheimer:
In fact, the new constitution aims to consolidate Latin America’s oldest and most decrepit dictatorship and to make it more difficult for any pro-democracy movement to start changing the system from within.Article 3 of the new Constitution says that “socialism and the social and political revolutionary system established by this Constitution are irrevocable.” It continues saying that “Citizens have the right to combat by all means, including armed struggle, when other means are not available, against anybody who seeks to topple the political, social and economic order established by this Constitution.”Translation: The new constitution says Cuba’s existing hereditary dictatorship can’t be challenged, and nobody can, for instance, create an opposition party to confront it. If somebody dares to challenge the ruling order, “citizens” — the regime’s euphemism for its civilian-clad secret police — can now legally kill the offenders.Article 5 says that “The Communist Party of Cuba, and no one else, guided by the teachings of (independence hero José) MartÃ, Fidel (Castro) and Marxism Leninism, organized vanguard of the Cuban nation… is the superior leading force of society and the state.”Translation: If anybody had any doubts about what Article 3 meant, the regime made it more explicit here. While a similar clause exists in the 1976 Constitution, it now adds the words “and no one else.”Article 224 says that “under no circumstance can the clauses about the irrevocable nature of socialism and the political and social system established in Article 3…be subject to reforms.”Translation: If there is one thing that can’t legally be changed in the future, it’s the dictatorship’s right to remain in power forever.
So there you have it. The new dictator is just like the old except that he has a new constitution.
It would be interesting to see how advocates of democracy in the West react to this travesty. What we are seeing in Cuba is the consolidation of the Castro family rule with a fellow named Diaz-Canel as the president of the month.
What can President Trump do? Continue to call for real change in Cuba and tighten the screws. In other words, the best way to help the Cuban people is to stop travelling or spending money in Cuba.
Last, but not least, did anyone really think that old communists would turn into liberty loving democrats because they talk about reform or change? I never did.

I'm convinced that people have tuned this daily anti-Trump garbage out. In other words, the only people who care about this already hate Trump.
Wonder how many Democrats running in competitive elections will invite Omarosa to their next rally? Not any!

According to Harry Reid, the war is lost. Yet, don't tell that to Al Qaeda. It looks more and more like US troops are breaking up the terrorist group:
"So the jihadists are facing "harsh realities" including the defection of large numbers of their countrymen who are joining in the current "offensive," with the result that the insurgency is in a state of "crisis" and "disaster." Quick, someone tell the Democrats!" (The Harsh Realities of Iraq)
Who is losing? It sounds like the surge is in fact breaking down Al Qaeda.
Of course, it's too easy to credit the surge. In fact, we have been doing some real harm to Al Qaeda since 2003.

We saw this coming and it's here:
"FBI fires Peter Strzok, months after anti-Trump texts revealed.."Why now? Well, let me speculate about the timing of this:
First, did Lisa Page turn him in? We heard that her presentation before Congress went very well or that she was very cooperative.
Second, is the FBI report about to hit the press? This is the second IG report that we heard was coming.
Third, is the investigation into the FBI's handling of Hillary Clinton's case about to hit the fan? This is the quiet investigation that no one talks about.
No matter the motivation or timing, this man should have been fired months ago. He did great damage to the FBI's reputation with his partisan application of justice.
Good riddance!

Confused Democrats or something like that
Confused Democrats or something like that.
This is hard to believe:
“Democrats view socialism more favorably than capitalism, Gallup says…”
The numbers are terrible when we look at young people:
Americans aged 18 to 29 are as positive about socialism (51%) as they are about capitalism (45%).
My guess is that they are confusing socialism with liberalism. In other words, they believe that government will provide health care, free education and so on. What they don’t understand is that all of these benefits come with very high taxes and a loss of personal freedom.
Also, a lot of young people don’t remember socialism or communism like my generation does. I saw this on the anniversary of The Berlin Wall. It went up 57 years ago. It came down 29 years ago. Unfortunately, a lot of young people don’t remember those dates.
It’s hard to believe but this is where we are. Our next challenge is to remind the young that socialism is not what they think it is.
Gun control for you but not for me, or something like that......

"Kellie Collins, a former congressional candidate in Georgia’s 10th District, was charged with the murder of her former campaign treasurer, Curtis Cain.Well, this is an interesting one to say the least. Wonder what the motive was?
The allegations of murder follow Collins’ advocacy for “responsible” gun control laws during her campaign.
WSB-TV reports that she argued for stricter legislation “to protect the community.”"
