No Harry Reid in 2017

Is there a more despicable person in Washington than Senator Harry Reid?
We remember his outrageous remarks about Governor Romney’s taxes in 2012. This is what he said about the election of Mr. Trump:
Departing Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid lashed out at Donald Trump on Friday as “a sexual predator who lost the popular vote and fueled his campaign with bigotry and hate.”
The Nevada Democrat said in a statement that “If Trump wants to roll back the tide of hate he unleashed, he has a tremendous amount of work to do and he must begin immediately.”
Reid said white nationalists, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and the Islamic State extremist group are celebrating Trump’s election, “while innocent, law-abiding Americans are wracked with fear.” That “does not feel like America,” Reid said.
Frankly, it does not get worse than Senator Reid.
We are happy to see that President Obama and Senator Schumer congratulated the president-elect.
It was even better to see that Senator Manchin, who will up for reelection in very red West Virginia in 2018, fought back saying this:
“I want to be very clear, he does not speak for me. As difficult as it is for anyone to lose an election, the American people have spoken and Donald Trump is our President-elect. Senator Reid’s words needlessly feed the very divisiveness that is tearing this country apart,” Manchin said. “We are Americans first, not Democrats or Republicans first. Unfortunately, there are some who forget that at times like these it is wrong to put party and politics above our country.”
The Democrats will be a lot better off now that Senator Reid, and the Clintons, are in the past. Senator Reid was divisive and made the U.S. Senate unworkable for years. The Clintons, at the same time, corrupted the party and everything that they touched.
Maybe someday Reid will sit back and realize what a failure he was as a political leader in Washington.
