Most Hispanics in Texas say 'no se puede' to abortion after 20 weeks!

(My new American Thinker post)

The first phase of the "abortion restrictions" vote in Texas was very interesting:

"Lawmakers voted 98-49 for the bill on second reading and a third reading vote is forthcoming, likely tomorrow, but the same margin is expected. The vote today for conditional approval is four more votes for the measure than the last time the House approved the bill before Wendy Davis' infamous filibuster.

Five pro-life Democrats voted for HB2 including Guillen, Herrero, Martinez, Munoz, and Pickett while one Republican voted against it: Sarah Davis."

The Hispanic Democrats who voted for these restrictions are more representative of their communities than the sole GOP representative who voted against it.

Last week, Politico had a story about abortion and Hispanics in Texas:
"There's just one problem: Latinos as a group oppose abortion more strongly than most other voting groups."

Frankly, I did not need a poll or story to confirm this.  All you have to do is look at the number of Catholic, Christian and Jewish Hispanics who practice their faith each week.

Here is another one:  Did you ever hear President Obama give a spirited defense of abortion in Texas?

This abortion episode has put a very ugly face on the Democrat party of Texas.

Add to this the obscene placards & unruly behavior of pro-abortion demonstrators and the net result is a Democrat Party very disconnected with the family values that prevail in our Hispanic community.

Sometimes you have to laugh when you read The New York Times

This is what I read in The NY Times today.  This is part of their coverage of the abortion vote in Texas:

"The Texas House of Representatives on Wednesday passed a vigorously contested bill restricting access to abortion.......

Sorry but how can a 96-49 be vigorously contested?  That's almost 2-1!

Here is another:

"Senator Davis, whose political profile has been raised to national recognition by her filibuster, joined Cecile Richards, the president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, for a rally in Houston as part of a “Stand With Texas Women” bus tour that will hit the vast state’s major cities through the weekend."

Stand with what women?  The National Journal poll shows that women support these restrictions, 50-44.

My question is this:  Did this reporter spend anytime in Texas to write this report?  Did he talk to any Texans?

Dear Jason: It's your PPG not your sexual orientation!

We could see this one coming.

A really mediocre NBA  player turns gay and he is now the Wendy Davis of the NBA!

NBA GM's are supposed to drop everything that they are doing and turn their attention to a guy just because he conveniently came out of the closet this summer.

Here is the big problem:  He can't score!  He can't rebound!  He is not that good:

"He’s an NBA journeyman, a seven-foot center who’s played with six teams in 12 seasons, averaging 3.6 points and 3.8 rebounds a game. A role player who hasn’t played anything close to a full season since 2008."  (Tom Van Riper)

My message to Jason, and all of the "he doesn't get a contract  because he is gay" crowd, is to get over yourselves and check your team statistics.

It's about points on the court not anything else.

Nobody is going to go crazy over a guy who averages 3.6 points per game!

Jason should call MSNBC.  They desperately needs hosts over there!  Jason and Wendy Davis can do a show together that no one will watch!
