Pres BO has not been challenged by the media and it clearly showed when he couldn't even present his positions during the debate

Today, Dana Milbank posted some rather amazing numbers about Pres BO's isolation

In conclusion, this is one of the most, if not the most, isolated president in recent history:

"Obama has set a modern record for refusal to be quizzed by the media, taking questions from reporters far less often than Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and even George W. Bush.

Though his opponent in 2008 promised to take questions from lawmakers like the British prime minister does, Obama has shied from mixing it up with members of Congress, too.

And, especially since Rahm Emanuel’s departure, Obama is surrounded by a large number of yes men who aren’t likely to get in his face. "

Frankly, I had no idea that Pres BO was that isolated from reality.  Add to that "isolation" a media that does not complain about the isolation and the net result is a man who is out of touch with reality.

How often does anyone in "the inner circle" disagree with Pres BO?  How comfortable in Pres BO with people who tell him the truth rather than suborndiates who give him a standing ovation everytime that he walks into the room.

We spoke a few days ago about "the media in the tank for Obama".

We agree that such a media is bad for the country because it shields politicians from reality.   We need a media constantly pounding politicians with questions and/or demanding answers.  (Like the used to do with Pres Bush)

We saw in the debate that Pres BO has actually been hurt by this "in the tank" coverage.  In other words, Pres BO can not engage in the back and forth of politics because he has not been forced to do so by reporters.

As we saw during the debate, he can't even argue his side of the story with any passion or effiency.    He is lost without the teleprompter or friendly venues like "The View".

Will it change?  Probably not!  My guess is that the media will continue with their fascination of Pres BO.  However, they will go back to being journalists when Mitt Romney wins the election.

What a treat to chat with Professor Jacobson of Legal Insurrection

We've been following Professor Jacobson's "Legal Insurrection" for a few years.

Recently, Professor Jacobson has been posting stories about Elizabeth Warren's contradictions over Native American heritage and law license.

My thanks to Leslie Eastman for making the connection.  Leslie has also posted several stories about Professor Jacobson.

The Elizabeth Warren story speaks volumes about the liberal wing of the Dem party.

Mrs Warren used her "ancestors" to get favorable treatment at the university.  She was a convenient "Cherokee" rather than one who participated in ethnic activities.

Second, the "law license" story is rather bizarre.  How can someone practice law and bill clients without a license?

This is the radio show with Professor Jacobson:
