Romney should talk to Hispanics about jobs, public schools reform & those 2,000 weapons in the hands of Mexican cartels

Memo to Gov Romney:

1) Keep talking about the US economy and the very high 11% unemployment in Hispanic communities;

2) Call for the need to empower Hispanic parents and break up the monopoly of public education.  In other words, let's give Hispanic parents "vouchers" so that they can choose a school; and,

3) keep demanding an explanation on how 2,000 guns ended up in the hands of Mexican cartels.

On foreign policy, Gov Romney should call for an expansion of trade with Latin America.  This is very important to create jobs so that people can stay home.

On immigration, Gov Romney should make it clear that we will secure the border and stop criminals with AK-47's from walking into Arizona.

On immigration reform, Gov Romney should punish employers and promote "guest worker" visas for those who want to work.  As we've discussed before, the "visa" does not create a path to residency or citizenship.  It is simply a legal vehicle to work in the US.

It's true that Hispanics have an emotional attachment to immigration issues.  At the same time, they care about the rule of law and respect for the US Constitution.

Why are Hispanics disillusioned?

They can't find work.   They keep seeing an Obama administration running yearly deficits 3 times larger than those of Pres Bush.

The public schools stink in the inner cities where the Dem party puts the teachers unions ahead of Hispanic or black parents.

Hispanics will be even more disillusioned now that their teenagers will have to compete for jobs with 800,000 "dreamers" just legalized right before the election in November.
