My thoughts about the Saturday night GOP debate

We finally got to watch a "foreign policy" debate.  It's about time because we live in a very dangerous world.

I liked the debate a lot.  Everyone looked good specially Perry who had his best performance of the season.

As usual, Romney and Gingrich were very good.  Cain looked a little tight specially when he was asked about Afghanistan.  Huntsman and Paul are so outside of the GOP mainstream that they are really a waste of time.  Santorum and Bachman are very nice people but they have zero chance of winning the nomination.

Nevertheless, it was great to hear the candidates talk foreign policy.

I understand that people are very uneasy about the economy, jobs and other domestic issues.

However, the US is a super power and we don't have the luxury of letting other countries lead.  We must lead period!

Our foreign policy concerns are huge, as discussed tonight:

1) Iran and a nuclear bomb;

2) Our relationship with Israel, specially in the age of Obama;

3) The national security implications of China investing in a huge Navy and pushing its weight around;

4) Libya and Egypt.....what happens next?

I was disappointed that they didn't get to Mexico and Latin America.  We have some issues south of the border, too!
