Did you know that the late Paul Leka wrote "Na Na Na?

Like so many of you, I've heard "Na Na Na Kiss him goodbye" a million times.

You hear that song on the radio or at the stadium when the visiting team makes a pitching change.  I've read that using this song at sporting events started with the White Sox organist in the late 1970s!

You hear it at local and national games.  It's part of the modern sports soundtrack!

"Na Na Na' was written by Paul Leka and released by a group called Steam in 1969.

I read today that Paul Leka died from cancer.   I didn't know that he had written so many songs or been involved with so many artists, such as "Green tambourine" by The Lemon Pipers, REO Speedwagon and Harry Chapin.

Did you know that?  I didn't but I certainly recognize those songs!

What was The Washington Post thinking when they published that "hit piece" against Senator Rubio?

In case that you've been busy with the World Series or other personal matters, Manuel Roig-Francia wrote a story about Senator Rubio in The Washington Post

"During his rise to political prominence, Sen. Marco Rubio frequently repeated a compelling version of his family’s history that had special resonance in South Florida.

He was the “son of exiles,” he told audiences, Cuban Americans forced off their beloved island after “a thug,” Fidel Castro, took power.  But a review of documents — including naturalization papers and other official records — reveals that the Florida Republican’s account embellishes the facts.   The documents show that Rubio’s parents came to the United States and were admitted for permanent residence more than two-and-a-half years before Castro’s forces overthrew the Cuban government and took power on New Year’s Day 1959."

So what point is Roig-Francia trying to make?  Is he saying that Cubans who left in 1956 looking for freedom were different than my parents who departed in 1964?

Senator Rubio responded with his article:

"But the Post story misses the point completely.  The real essence of my family’s story is not about the date my parents first entered the United States.   Or whether they traveled back and forth between the two nations.   Or even the date they left Fidel Castro’s Cuba forever and permanently settled here."

This is the definition of a "hit piece".

First of all, we don't divide Cubans in the US as pre-59 or post-59.  In our hearts, every Cuban who came here looking for freedom is part of the movement.

Second, did Manuel Roig-Francia write an article about candidate BO's story about his mother's death?

Third, and most important, this is only the beginning of the left's war against Rubio.  In other words, Rubio has to be destroyed because he has the potential of crushing Pres BO's Hispanic vote numbers in 2012.

The bad news is that it won't be the last!  The good news is that we came to Sen Rubio's defense and put Manuel Roig-Francia in the defensive.
