July 2, 1964: The day we left Cuba

We left Cuba on this day in 1964.

In my book linked below, there is a whole section about the day our family left Cuba.   It was one of those full 24-hour days that you just can't forget.

We woke up at a hotel, ate breakfast, took a cab to the airport and then waited to get on the plane.  Our flight to Mexico City was rather consequential, specially the landing.

We woke up in Cuba and went to sleep in Mexico City.  What a day!

My father died in late 2015.    My mother is 88.     My brother and sister have their families and a lot of years have passed.

Nevertheless, we always say thanks again to our parents for their sacrifices and leadership during over the many years.
