In October '62, The Beatles finally walked into a studio to record a song.

Ringo Starr joined The Beatles because producer George Martin did not think that drummer Pete Best was good enough to play in the group's first record.

Ringo was signed and talk about winning the lottery! Or being in the right place at the right time!

In less than 2 years, The Beatles were international superstars and the rest is history.

Ringo is 77 today.....and that's hard to believe!

John & Paul wrote "Yellow Submarine" but Ringo does the lead vocals. It was one of the group's biggest hits and the only time that Ringo sang lead on a # 1 song:
