1886: President Cleveland married Frances Folsom

President Cleveland married Frances Folsom on this day in 1886.

President Cleveland was a bachelor when he was elected in 1884.    Frances was 27 years younger than Mr Cleveland.
She was a very popular First Lady because of her youth and charm.

The Clevelands had 5 children, including Baby Ruth,  the first baby born to a president in the White House.

Mr Cleveland was the Democrat nominee in 1884, 1888 and 1892.     He lost in 1888 and won the other two times.
