We remember Gary Carter (1954-2012)


Gary Carter was born on this day in California in 1954.   He died too young in 2012.

Carter broke with the Expos and became their regular catcher in 1975.     For the next 15 years, Carter became one of the best catchers in major league history:  .262 batting average, 324 HR, 1,225 RBI and 2,092 hits.    He won 3 Gold Gloves:  1980, 1981 & 1982.

Gary was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2003.
