Where is the black Democrat telling Colin Kaepernick to shut up?

184139_6001
The whole Kaepernick anthem affair confirms two things:
1) He is no longer making headlines by throwing TD’s; and worse,
2) He does not have a clue of what repression really is.
My friend Humberto Fontova told me about Kaepernick holding a press conference wearing a T-shirt with a picture of Fidel Castro. It explained everything that I needed to know about this clown named CK who can’t play QB anymore.
Furthermore, it also proved that Kaepernick does not even understand what is going on in U.S. cities, especially as it relates to the minorities that he is suddenly so worried about. Maybe he should get out of his mansion and spend a few days living in the inner city.
Blacks are killed by police at a lower rate than their threat to officers would predict. To cite more data on this point: in 2013, blacks made up 42 percent of all cop killers whose race was known, even though blacks are only about 13 percent of the nation’s population.
Less than one-third of all homicides by police involve black victims. Moreover, there is a huge, unacknowledged measure of support for the police in the inner city: “They’re due respect because they put their lives every day on the line to protect and serve. I hope they don’t back off from policing,” a woman told me on the Staten Island street where Eric Garner was killed. (This was two nights before Officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos were assassinated in Brooklyn.)
It ain’t happening, Colin. You are reading our society’s problems as poorly as you do the defenses intercepting your passes or the receivers that you are constantly overthrowing!
Here is the worst part: His message of black victimology was unchallenged. No one in the Congressional Black Caucus stood up and called Collin out.    No one in the Democrat Party defended the police from the outrageous lies that Kaepernick said.
In the meantime, Chicago has recorded 487 homicides and more than 2,800 people shot so far this year. My guess is that the people in those communities are happy to see “the blue team”!
At the end of the day, who cares whether Kaepernick salutes the national anthem. Let him sit down! However, he has no right to attack the integrity of our police officers or pretend to be enlightened by wearing a Fidel Castro T-shirt!

September 1968: The Bee Gees and "I've gotta get a message to you"

In this post, we recall one of the Bee Gees' early international hits.

This is "I've gotta get a message to you" and one of those songs that established the brothers' unique sound.

Barry was 21 and the twins were 18 in the summer of 1968.

They were in the second year of an amazing international career that lasted until Maurice died in 2003!

Robin sings lead. Barry sings the second verse. And Maurice does some amazing harmony.

I don't know what I did with my copy of this 45 rpm record. I do remember wearing out a needle or two listening to this one!

Here is the song. The video shows Barry & Robin doing vocals and Maurice on the keyboards:

"The preacher talked to me and he smiled,
Said, "Come and walk with me, come and walk one more mile. Now for once in your life you're alone, but you ain't got a dime, there's no time for the phone."I've just got to get a message to you, hold on, hold on.One more hour and my life will be through, hold on, hold on.I told him I'm in no hurry, but if I broke her heart, won't you tell her I'm sorry. And for once in my life I'm alone, and I've got to let her know just in time before I go.I've just go to get a message to you, hold on, hold on.One more hour and my life will be through, hold on, hold on.Well I laughed but that didn't hurt, and it's only her love that keeps me wearing this dirt. Now I'm crying but deep down inside, well I did it to him, now it's my turn to die.I've just got to get a message to you, hold on, hold on.One more hour and my life will be through, hold on, hold on."

What is the Clinton Foundation doing in Colombia?

Our friend Fausta Rodriguez Wertz has been on this story for a week.
It begs the question: What was The Clinton Foundation looking for in Colombia?
Here is a bit of the very complicated story
Fondo Acceso was founded in 2010 by Bill Clinton, the Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim, and the Canadian mining magnate Frank Giustra. The Clinton Foundation and the SLIM Foundation committed $10 million each to the fund.
The Clinton Foundation is a 50 percent shareholder in the company, according to its tax records. Numerous Clinton Foundation and Clinton-Giustra Enterprise Partnership officials are listed as Fondo Acceso directors in Colombian corporate filings.
The fund has reportedly distributed $1.5 million to Alimentos SAS, a fruit-pulping company, and $250,000 to the telecommunications firm Fontel SA in exchange for shareholding agreements. The Clinton Foundation and CGEP have declined to release a full list of Fondo Acceso’s investments.
What exactly is the point of having President Clinton in business in Colombia with a Mexican telecommunications billionaire and a Canadian mining magnate? Why all the secrecy? Why was the website takend down?
I have a few other questions:
1) Did they do this to avoid regulations in Colombia or the U.S.? Or to create a fund to go around U.S. oversight or campaign laws?
2) Why didn’t President Clinton create the fund to boost business in the U.S.? For example, how about a fund to invest in our inner cities? Why promote investment in other places when our cities are desperately lacking in jobs?
3) Did Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have any role in this?
According to Fausta, Hillary Clinton’s timeline is interesting — or maybe Clintonian:
2008: Hillary Clinton campaigns for president, is against the Colombia Free Trade Agreement.
2009: Hillary Clinton becomes Secretary of State. She starts lobbying members of Congress for approval of the CFTA, as revealed on emails released on February 2016.
2010: Bill Clinton, Carlos Slim, and Frank Giustra (who pledged $100 million to the Foundation) open Fondo Acceso. Previously, in June 2005, Gold Service International, a South American business group, paid Bill Clinton $800,000 to deliver four speeches in South America. Gold Service was pushing for the free trade agreement, which would help boost Colombian exports to the United States, and Clinton was supportive of the policy.
The Clinton apologists will say that this is all coincidence, as they always do. My answer to the Clinton apologists is to remind them of Ian Fleming’s line about coincidence:
“Once is happenstance.
Twice is coincidence.
Three times is enemy action”
Finally, am I the only one who finds Mrs. Clinton’s change of heart about the Colombia Free Trade Agreement just a bit too cute?
This is especially relevant because she was for the Trans Pacific Partnership until she was against it. Can we believe anything that this woman says? Will she flip as President Clinton to take care of some donation that someone gave to the Clinton Foundation?

The NAACP is about teachers’ unions, not black children

The NAACP made a big decision this week. The teachers’ union won but black inner-city children lost.
This is the story:
In separate conventions over recent weeks, the NAACP, the nation’s oldest black civil rights organization, and the Movement for Black Lives, a network of Black Lives Matter organizers, passed resolutions criticizing charter schools and calling for a moratorium on their growth. Charters were faulted by the groups for supposedly draining money from traditional public schools and allegedly fueling segregation. The NAACP measure, which still must be ratified by the board before becoming official, went so far as to liken the expansion of charters to “predatory lending practices” that put low-income communities at risk.
This is insane, and confirms my thinking that the NAACP is out of touch with the reality that many African Americans live, as the Wall Street Journal reported:
Some 28% of charter-school students are black, which is almost double the figure for traditional public schools. A report last year from Stanford’s Center for Research on Education Outcomes found that across 41 urban areas black students in charters gained on average 36 extra days in math learning a year and 26 in reading while Hispanic students gained 22 in math and six in reading. Black students in poverty notched 59 more days in math. This is the definition of “advancement.”
The NAACP didn’t bother to ask black parents what they think: a 2013 poll of black voters in four southern states by the Black Alliance for Educational Options found that at least 85% agreed that “government should provide parents with as many choices as possible.” No less than half in every state supported charter schools. Another sign of support is the hundreds of thousands of black students nationwide who sign up for lotteries for a seat at a charter.
So what’s going on? Why would the nation’s oldest civil rights group deny African American children a real opportunity to succeed?
My guess is that most of these NAACP leaders send their kids to private schools anyway. In other words, what do they care?
More importantly, the Democrat party is owned by the public-sector unions. It’s good for the party on election day but it does not do minority parents any good when they try to educate their kids.

Trump wasn’t a racist when he contributed to Democrats

hillary-clinton-vs-donald-trump-cartoon-390x220
During the primary reason, Mr. Trump was often attacked by the others on the stage for having contributed to Democrats over the years.  We remember Senator Cruz for this:
Donald Trump has consistently financed the campaigns of some of the most liberal politicians in the country[.] … California is perhaps one of the more egregious examples. From supporting high taxes and heavy regulation to amnesty and sanctuary cities, the top three officials in California have been a disaster for the state. A number of qualified Republican candidates ran to fix California’s problems, but Trump decided to back liberal Democrats against them.
I am not trying to fight the primary all over again.  I am simply demonstrating the hypocrisy of those Democrats who have suddenly discovered that Mr. Trump is a racist.
The Clinton Foundation received at least $105,000 from Trump – money not returned!
Trump may have funded Planned Parenthood, too, although we won’t know for sure until tax returns are released.
And he gave to other Democrats, as Rolling Stone wrote last spring:
An examination of Trump’s donations since 1998 reveals that the bulk of Trump’s political largesse has gone to politicians in places where he does business — like Florida, where he long supported disgraced politico Mark Foley; Nevada, where he’s given $9,400 to Democratic Sen. Harry Reid over the years; and of course New York, where notables like Chuck Schumer, Kirsten Gillibrand and Anthony Weiner have all received Trump dough.
Again, I understand Trump’s logic here.  He was donating to people in places where he did business.  Nothing shocking about that.
My problem is that none of these Democrats has returned the money, especially now that the Clinton campaign is targeting Trump for racism, sexism, and whatever other “ism” is out there.
Someone, especially Mrs. Clinton or President Obama, should call on Democrats to return and disassociate themselves from any Trump money.
As I said, no one called him a racist when he contributed to Democrats.  It proves once again that the word “racist” these days has nothing to do with race.
Calling someone a racist in our political landscape means two things:
1) He is a GOP candidate.
2) And more importantly, the Democrat using the word “racist” does not want to talk about serious issues, such as black unemployment (8.4%), Democrat leaders sending their kids to private schools or the state of the very weak U.S. economy (GDP 1.1%).
Memo to Democrats: return Trump’s money, or we will continue to call hypocrisy!

Clinton’s new strategy: I may be a crook, but he is a racist

What exactly made the Clinton campaign go “race card” on Trump?
It seems a bit early for such a card. After all, isn’t she supposed to be leading by 10 points and headed for a landslide?
Do you recall Reagan ’84, Nixon ’72, or even Clinton ’96 sounding so desperate or attacking their opponents like this? They usually said little or had their helpers engage in attacks.
So what’s going on? Let me give you a couple of theories:
1) The Clinton campaign must have internal polling that it is a lot closer than the national polls suggest, or at least some information that her lead is melting because of all the bad news. They may also (and that’s speculation on my part) have polling that shows that there is zero excitement in the African American communities for her campaign. In other words, she will get 90% but the turnout may be very low! I remember analyzing the 2016 Texas primary on Telemundo Dallas last spring and we spent much of the night talking about the lousy Hispanic turnout. Excitement and Hillary Clinton do not go together!
2) The Clinton campaign may fear some bad news coming. Julian Assange told the media that bad stuff is coming. He may be bluffing or engaging in self-promotion. However, the recent AP story suggests that Assange may put the bow on this scandal. My guess is that some emails may confirm that the State Department and the Clinton Foundation were just a bit too close for comfort. At some point, even the friendly media will call on her to answer some questions!
It’s hard to believe that the Clintons would have a private server, delete emails and hide everything because they are stupid, asCharles Krauthammer wrote.   There is something that this couple is hiding. Why so much secrecy about emails between a mother and a daughter about to get married?
So put me down as someone who believes that there are big news coming. We may be about to have the mother of all October surprises.
Again, why play the race card now? I think that the new strategy will be to work on energizing the Obama coalition by saying this: I may be crooked but he is a racist!
What else do you when you are crooked? I guess that you scare your base that a racist is worse than a woman who can’t tell the truth or puts our national security at risk.
P.S. You can listen to my show (Canto Talk) and follow me on Twitter.
