We remember Bob Veale, the tall lefthander

We remember Bob Veale, who was born in Birmingham, Alabama.

Veale was 6'6 as well as a very effective left hander for the Pirates in the 1960's.

Veale broke with Pittsburgh in 1962.   He won 18 games in 1964 and 66 games over the next four seasons.   He won 120 games and retired with a 3.07 ERA.

Happy # 81 to Bob Veale.
