The Doors "Light my fire" was #1 song this week in 1967

It was one of the best songs of the 1960s and #1 this week in 1967:
"It was the follow-up release from their debut album, The Doors, which would become their first bona fide smash.
"Light My Fire," which earned the top spot in the Billboard Hot 100 on this day in 1967, transformed The Doors from cult favorites of the rock cognoscenti into international pop stars and avatars of the 60s counterculture."
Yes, it was a great single and long version from a very good debut album.  The B-side was "The crystal ship", another good song that got lots of airplay.

A year later, or the summer/fall of 1968, Jose Feliciano released a great version that peaked at #3 in the US.
