The amazing Ichiro should get to 3,000 this weekend!

It seems like only yesterday that Ichiro Suzuki broke with Seattle in 2001.

We got to see a lot of Ichiro because the Rangers and Mariners are in the AL West, i.e. play each other 18 times every year.

Since getting 242 hits and hitting .350 in his rookie season, Ichiro has been an amazing hitting machine:  2,533 hits in 1,884 games in Seattle or 1.34 hits per game!

Add to this great defense, a superb arm, 507 Stolen Bases, 92 triples including 12 in 2005 and you have a real Hall of Fame candidate.

His numbers dropped in New York and Miami but he is in great shape at age 42.

So best of luck to Ichiro and his quest to 3,000 hits!   He is truly amazing!
