Summer 1972: "Isn't life strange" by The Mooody Blues

Back in the summer of 1972, The Moody Blues released a new LP called "Seventh Sojourn".    The LP did very well!      It reached # 5 in the UK & # 1 in the US.

It featured some great songs, including "I'm just a singer in a rock'n roll band", "For my lady" and "Isn't life strange".

All 3 songs got lots of radio air play, although "Isn't life strange" was a bit too long at 6 plus minutes to make a Top 40 radio format.    As I recall, there was a shorter version that the stations would play.

The LP version was just great:

"Isn't life strange"

"Isn't life strange A turn of the page
Can read like before Can we ask for more?
Each day passes by How hard man will try?
The sea will not wait
You know it makes me want to cry, cry, cry -

Wished I could be in your heart
To be one with your love
Wished I could be in your eyes
Looking back there you were, and here we are.

Isn't love strange A word we arrange
With no thought or care Maker of despair
Each breath that we breathe
With love we must weave To make us as one
You know it makes me want to cry, cry, cry -

Wished I could be in your heart
To be one with your love
Wished I could be in your eyes
Looking back there you were, and here we are.

Isn't life strange A turn of the page
A book without light Unless with love we write;
To throw it away To lose just a day
The quicksand of time
You know it makes me want to cry, cry, cry -

Wished I could be in your heart
To be one with your love
Wished I could be in your eyes
Looking back there you were....."
