"Silly love songs" moves to # 1 this week in 1976

Who remembers "Silly love songs"?  Or catching Paul McCartney & Wings in "The Wings over America" tour of 1976?

In terms of pop hits and records sold, Paul was the most successful ex-Beatle.    John went into seclusion for much of the late 1970s.   Ringo and George had some hits but not much more.

Paul had lots of hits, a recognition of his ability to write catch tunes.

In the summer of 1976, Paul was back on the radio and touring the US.

"Silly love songs" was # 1 for 5 weeks and was the most popular song of the year.
