Obama says he wouldn't let his son play pro football

(My new American Thinker post)

Is President Obama politically tone deaf or what?  Why in the world would the President of the US even make a statement like this in the first place?  And on a weekend when the whole country is watching playoff football?

According to The Hill,  President Obama said this:
"President Obama said that he believed NFL players "know what they're doing" and understood the impact that concussions could have on their long-term health in an interview with The New Yorker published on Sunday, adding that he would not let his son play pro football.
At this point, there's a little bit of caveat emptor," Obama said. "These guys, they know what they're doing. They know what they're buying into. It is no longer a secret. It's sort of the feeling I have about smokers, you know?"
President & Mrs Obama do not have a son so the statement is cost free.  As the father of 3 sons, and living in football crazy Texas, I can assure you that boys around here are born to play the game.

Maybe the Obama son won't play football out of respect for his dad's wishes to avoid injury.

We do know one thing about the Obama son:  He won't attend a public school in Chicago or Washington DC.

Like most liberals, the Obamas avoid public education and prefer to send their kids to private schools. Just ask VP Gore, the Clintons and most of the members of the Black Congressional Caucus.
