Remembering Rick Huxley of The Dave Clark 5

We learned this week that Rick Huxley, the bassist for The Dave Clark Five passed away.  He was 72 and apparently died of cancer. The DC-5 were one of the biggest rock groups of what was called "The British invasion":

"The group, whose members joined forces as teenagers in North London, had a string of hits in the United States and Britain in the 1960s, including “Bits and Pieces,” “Glad All Over” and “Catch Us if You Can.” They made several appearances on “The Ed Sullivan Show” and starred in a feature film, “Having a Wild Weekend.” The Dave Clark Five were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008.
Mr. Clark and the guitarist Lenny Davidson are the surviving members. Denis Payton, who played saxophone, harmonica and guitar, died in 2006. Mike Smith, the lead singer and keyboardist, died in 2008. "  (NYTimes)

I was a big fan and loved their sound.   RIP Rick Huxley!   Click here for "Catch us if you can".  Huxley is the one in the middle:

"Here they come again, mmmm-mm-mm
Catch us if you can, mmmm-mm-mm
Time to get a move on, mmmm-mm-mm
We will yell with all of our might
Catch us if you can Catch us if you can
Catch us if you can Catch us if you can
Now we gotta run, mmmm-mm-mm
No more time for fun, mmmm-mm-mm
When we're gettin' angry, mmmm-mm-mm
We will yell with all of our might
Catch us if you can Catch us if you can
Catch us if you can Catch us if you can
Here they come again, mmmm-mm-mm
Catch us if you can, mmmm-mm-mm
Time to get a move on, mmmm-mm-mm
We will yell with all of our might
Catch us if you can..."
