"Hey Paula" by Paul & Paula was a pop classic

HEY PAULA BY PAUL & PAULA WILL TURN 50 THIS YEAR….

It is one of the greatest "teen love" pop songs ever recorded.

They were Ray Hilderbrand and Jill Jackson and met in college in Brownwood, TX.  Eventually, they recorded the song and it was #1 in the US for the entire month of February 1963......a real pop classic!

They broke up a few years later and went on their separate ways.  However, they do get together once in a while to sing "Hey Paula".

“Hey hey Paula, I wanna marry you.
Hey hey Paula, no one else could ever do.
I've waited so long for school to be through,
Paula, I can wait no more for you, my love, my love.
Hey Paul, I've been waiting for you.
Hey hey Paul, I wanto to marry you too.
If you love me true, if you love me still,
our love will always be real, my love, my love.
True love means planning our life for two,
being together the whole day through.
True love means waiting and hoping that soon
wishes we made, will come true, my love, my love.
hey hey paula i've been waiting for you
hey hey paul i want to marry you too
True love means planning our life for two,
being together the whole day through.
True love means waiting and hoping that soon
wishes we made, will come true, my love, my love.”
