Who does not like Sam Cooke's voice and songs?
I became a huge fan in the 1970s when I heard an album of his songs. What an incredible talent! What great songs!

Sam Cooke was found dead 47 years ago today:
"On December 11, 1964, in response to a reported shooting, officers of the Los Angeles Police Department were dispatched to the Hacienda Motel, where they found Sam Cooke dead on the office floor, shot three times in the chest by the motel's manager, Bertha Franklin. The authorities ruled Cooke's death a case of justifiable homicide, based on the testimony of Ms. Franklin, who claimed that Cooke had threatened her life after attempting to rape a young woman with whom he had earlier checked in."
I guess that we will never know for sure but Sam Cooke was found dead that day.
Sam Cooke was just fantastic. His biggest hit was "You send me", a pop classic that just gets better with age. My other favorites are "Cupid" and "What a wonderful world", a couple of great pop tunes:

Don't know much about a science book,
Don't know much about the french I took.
