As of today, the polls are all over the map. It does look like Gingrich is going down but polling is very hard to do in a caucus. Frankly, I don't believe any of the polls because this is not going to be a typical election.
The FOX News debate was quite good. Everyone did well except Ron Paul who just absolutely drives me crazy with his foreign policy statements.
Romney and Gingrich did well. Romney was very steady and Gingrich was superb in the second half.
Put me down as one who agrees with Gingrich about the out of control judiciary. However, closing down courts or having judges come before Congress is not a good idea.
Again, Gingrich is right that many of us are outraged with judges who seem to be so out of touch with reality and our Judeo-Christan values. However, the answer is for Congress to "override" the courts by writing laws and/or amending the constitution.
Romney was steady as always. He speaks well and presents a very competent front. I can understand why he is doing so well against BO in some of the national polls.
On another front, Schoen & Caddell, a couple of Dem pollsters and analysts, have once again called for the Dems to have Hillary Clinton challenge Pres BO:
"It’s clear that Obama has been unable to build consensus and, with the polarizing campaign he is now running, will be unable to govern effectively even if reelected.
Only Clinton can commit the Democratic Party — and, indeed, the nation — to a unification and healing process.
This could allow Washington, in a bipartisan manner, to finally address the economic and governmental crises that now grip America. " (Caddell & Schoen)
They are right about Pres BO's problems. As they point out, he won't be able to govern if he wins.
They are wrong in putting so much faith on Hillary Clinton. First, our foreign policy is a mess and she is our Sec of State. Second, Hillary Clinton is not exactly a "uniter" either.
I would advise Caddell & Schoen to try to persuade some like former Senator Evan Bayh, a centrist Dem who will probably have an easier time negotiating with the GOP.
Last, but not least, it is astonishing that Caddell & Schoen have called for a change at the top again. My guess is that a lot of Dems agree with them but can't come out publicly.
