Baby boomer memory: Did I just hear that Patty Duke is 65 years old?

As I understand it, a "baby boomer" is someone born between 1946 and 1964, or the big post-war baby boom!

I guess that makes me a "baby boomer"!  I was born in the 1950's along with so many of you!

I heard this week that Patty Duke turned 65!

In the mid-1960's, Patty Duke had a weekly TV show.  She played two characters:  the classical suburban teen girl of the decade and her sophisticated and "cultured" cousin.

One girl enjoyed Beethoven and the other one dancing to the Rolling Stones!  They were "identical cousins" but totally different in personality and musical tastes.

It was a very popular show, specially with teen girls who got a kick out of watching "the cousins" played by Patty Duke deal with boys and high school life.

Frankly, I was not a big fan of the show but our little sister Lidia was!  It was classic 1960's TV!  Clean and simple!

After this show, Patty had some serious movie roles.  I believe that she won many awards for her acting.   Last, but not least, Patty became a mental health advocate.

Nevertheless, I guess that she will be remembered by many of us for her TV show.

Patty Duke is 65 years old and that makes some of us realize that time has indeed flown by.

Happy # 65 to Patty Duke.

This is Patty and the intro to her very popular show:
