John Lennon would have been 71 today!

We will never know but my guess is that John & Paul would have worked together again.  My guess # 2 is that The Beatles would have recorded together, too.

We will never know but it's a wonderful musical fantasy on what would have been John Lennon's 71st birthday.

'In my life" is one of those songs that gets better with age.  It is one of the best Lennon-McCartney songs and a great track from the Rubber Soul album.

"Oh my love" is a solo effort from the "Imagine" album.  This is a great song with nice lyrics.

"Girl" is another Lennon-McCartney beauty from the aforementioned "Rubber Soul" album.  It sounds just as good today as it did that day that I rushed home with the album:

"There are places I'll remember All my life, though some have changed
Some forever, not for better Some have gone and some remain
All this places have their moments With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living In my life, I've loved them all
But of all these friends and lovers There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning

When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection

For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life, I love you more
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life, I love you more In my life-- I love you more...."

"Oh my love for the first time in my life,
My eyes are wide open,
Oh my lover for the first time in my life,
My eyes can see,
I see the wind, Oh I see the trees,
Everything is clear in my heart,
I see the clouds, Oh I see the sky,
Everything is clear in our world,
Oh my love for the first time in my life,
My mind is wide open,
oh my lover for the first time in my life,
My mind can feel,
I feel the sorrow, Oh I feel dreams,
Everything is clear in my heart,
I feel life, I feel love
everything is clear in our world....."

"Is there anybody going to listen to my story
All about the girl who came to stay?
She's the kind of girl you want so much
It makes you sorry Still, you don't regret a single day
Ah Girl Girl
When I think of all the times I've tried so hard to leave her
She will turn to me and start to cry
And she promises the earth to me
And I believe her After all this time I don't know why
Ah, Girl Girl
She's the kind of girl who puts you down
When friends are there, you feel a fool
When you say she's looking good
She acts as if it's understood
She's cool Girl Girl
Was she told when she was young that pain
Would lead to pleasure?
Did she understand it when they said
That a man must break his back to earn
His day of leisure?
Will she still believe it when he's dead?
Ah Girl Girl..."
