Years ago, we started school on the day after Labor Day.
I remember many Labor Day nights desperately trying to fall to sleep to be ready for school the next day.
It was hard to change from a summer to a school schedule!
I hated the 6am alarm and my mother knocking on our door!
Of course, the end of summer vacation was also the beginning of high school football.
I loved it when I was a teenager. I loved it even more when my sons played! It was absolutely great watching them to play.
Speaking of the "school spirit", let's recall "Be true to your school" by The Beach Boys:
