It looks like the Rangers will play the Yankees in the first round!

The Rangers are up 3 with 12 games left.  However, they do play their last 3 in Anaheim against the Angels.  I'm not ready to celebrate just yet!

Nevertheless, you have to like the way that Texas is playing and maintained a first place position for almost the entire season.

They are swinging the bat and getting some good starting pitching.  (Holland is 8-1 with a 2.74 ERA over his last 13 starts)

Last night, Josh Hamilton hit a grand slam and David Murphy continued his torrid hitting.  Murphy is hitting .357 with 10 RBI in 10 games.  Mike Napoli is having a career season with 26 HRs and doing a great job between catcher and first base.  Can Ian Kinsler hit 30 HRs?  Will Adrian Beltre win a Gold Glove?  Let's not forget Elvis Andrus and Nellie Cruz!

Of course, Michael Young has been the most consistent Rangers all year long.  He will soon have another 200-hit season and likely finish with the second best batting average in the AL.  He has also played third, second, first and DH.  It sounds like an MVP season to me!

The Rangers are likely going to start the post-season in NY.  It should be a great series.

P.S. On Thursday night, we spoke a little baseball with Coach McCreary and Jose Reyes.  Enjoy the chat:
