Barrack "Fidel" Obama: My parents saw this "class warfare" movie before!

Over the years, I've heard about Cuba from my parents.  They remember how Castro turned Cubans against Cubans by promoting envy and the class warfare that destroyed the island's economy.

Before Castro, Cuba enjoyed a lot of prosperity, in large measure because of the close relationship between Cuba and the US.

I won't print all of the numbers but you can read about it here:  Cuba Before Fidel Castro

However, Castro used "class warfare" to divide and blame others for the failures of socialism.

"Class warfare" is always a demagogue's last resort.  (Racism is a close second)

It is a practice that destroys companies, jobs and drives capital out of the country.

Let me share a personal story.

My mom was born in Cuba but she is the descendant of immigrants who went to Cuba in the 1920's.  They left Asturias, Spain, and sought a better life in the island.

They got off the ship with nothing, worked hard and built small companies that employed people and provided their families with a nice and honest living.

What happened when the communists arrived?  They were demonized and their businesses were confiscated.  They lost everything under the banner of "class warfare" and "fair share"!

What happened to their small companies?  They were closed and the jobs disappeared!

My father was a banker in a Cuban owned bank.  His brothers were architects and draftsmen.  His cousin was a doctor.

Again, they all made an honest living until communism came around to destroy everything.

You can take my family's story and multiply it by the thousands of Cubans who left the island.

"Class warfare" is a lie.  It is also "poison"!

We learned more about Pres BO's falsehoods that the rich, or the productive sector, is not paying enough taxes:

"Now, I don’t know how much Warren Buffett pays his secretary, or how much either of them really pays in income taxes.

But when 0.1 percent of the population is collectively paying more in income taxes than 80 percent of the population is collectively paying, it’s clear that there’s not a whole lot of need for the “Buffett Rule.”"  (JH Anderson)

P.S. On Tuesday night, we spoke with Dr. Ileana Johnson-Paugh about going back to Romania.  We also discussed "class warfare", a favorite tactic of communist regimes in Romania and Cuba.  Click to hear Dr. Johnson's views on "class warfare":
