When is Pres BO going to give a speech about Afghanistan?

We understand that Afghanistan is critical and a necessary fight.  We supported Pres BO when he escalated the war and sent 30,000 troops to "surge" over there.

Over the weekend, Afghanistan hit the front pages with a fury.  We learned that 30 heroes were killed when their helicopter went down.  It was the worst day in the history of the war.

What's next?  The Obama administration has never expressed its specific aims in Afghanistan.  We do not have any "metrics" for measuring the progress over there.

Worse than that, Pres BO has never given a speech presenting the argument for fighting the war.

I am familiar with two Afghanistan speeches.  The first one was in late 2009 when the announced the escalation.  The second one was the draw-down speech from a few weeks ago.

During the campaign, candidate BO spoke often of the strategic importance of the war.   We have not heard as much since he was elected president.

Pres BO risks losing public support.  He has already lost much of his party.

Pres BO needs to make his case or the public will turn off on the war, specially now that everyone is focused on our domestic problems.
