We learned of the deadly shooting at a Monterrey "casino" last week. (I use the word casino but I don't know for sure whether it is a gambling house or just another place of entertainment)
Naturally, the shooting has received a lot of coverage in the media south of the border.
Patrick Corcoran has copies of the front pages in Mexico! The headlines makes reference to "terrosimo" and that's exactly the right word for something this horrific!
I'm glad to hear that journalists and headline writers are finally calling it "terrorismo". What else do you call shooting into a "casino" and killing people at random?

My biggest concern is that this attack will hurt the local economy and get more capital out of Mexico.
Who is going to go out at night if incidents like these happen in the heart of a major Mexican city?
Also, these attacks will continue to drive more and more people with money out of Mexico.
We recently saw a story out of Houston that Mexicans are moving to The Woodlands to get away from the violence. How many of these people can Mexico afford to lose?

We also learned in The NY Times that Mexican law enforcement is now operating inside the US and that US drones are flying over Mexico.
The article points out that it's a secret operation because of sensitivities in Mexico?
Sensitive about what? What could you possibly be sensitive about after almost 40,000 people have been killed?
