Our "let me prove that I'm a leader" Pres BO is now "a meteorologist in chief!"

Our friends in the East Coast can sleep well today.

We just learned that Pres BO is in charge of the hurricane command center.

We also learned that the latest Gallup approval is 38%, or a new low for Pres BO.

According to our friends at Power Line, Pres BO ".....chaired a meeting at the National Response Coordination Center (NRCC) set up at the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) headquarters in Washington, which is marshaling federal and local hurricane-relief efforts."

Frankly, how silly can Pres BO be?  This is the silliest image I've seen since Michael Dukakis got into a tank to prove that he was commander-in-chief material!

We are very happy that Pres BO is concerned about Hurricane Irene.

At the same time, this is not a national security or military matter.

We have very capable people at the NRCC, FEMA and all of the other agencies responsible for natural disasters.

Unlike Katrina and Louisiana, we have very competent governors in NY, NJ, Virginia, North & South Carolina.  Unlike New Orleans in the fall of 2005, we have strong and capable mayors in NY City, Philadelphia, etc.

Frankly, have we reached a point where Pres BO thinks that he has to get involved in everything, from child obesity to plant emissions in Texas to running hurricane operations?

Wouldn't it be more productive to have Pres BO working on his "jobs" speech?

Or, perhaps, looking to stop regulations so that business people can operate without the weight of an unbearable government?
