We learned yesterday that Pres BO will present a "jobs plan" in September. We will wait for details and specifics, or the kind of stuff that our 3rd year president does not seem to enjoy presenting.
In reality, Pres BO has very few options.
We have already spent $787 billion in a stimulus. We are running a $1 trillion deficit. We are sending out a lot of unemployment checks.
What can he do?
I suppose that he can call on US businesses to hire Iraq and Afghanistan veterans. At the same time, these guys are not being hired because businesses are not hiring period.
I suppose that he can call for a payroll tax holiday or some other gimmick intended to distract voters.
At the end of the the day, this economy needs confidence. Unfortunately, we are not getting any of that from Pres BO.
