Why do Cubans vote Republican rather than Democrat?
Why do we value the "opportunity society" rather than the entitlement culture that consumes so much of Europe?
The answer is two fold:
First, Cubans, and specially those of my parents generation, have experience with the charlatan who preaches "hope and change" and "tax the rich". My parents saw this movie before and it does not have a happy ending!
Second, Cubans understand national security and that freedom is not cheap.
We protested Pres BO's recent press conference and his demagogic attacks on people who create jobs and pay taxes. I never thought that I'd hear a President of the US engage in such pathetic rhetoric.
Yesterday, Sen Rubio responded in the US Senate. He spoke for millions of us who expect such "class warfare" from 3rd world leaders not the president of the US.
