What about that "mainstream media" narrative that Pres BO is winning the battle over the debt ceiling debate?
Gallup respectfully disagrees: Obama's Weekly Job Approval Ties Term Low of 43%
Rasmussen agrees with Gallup: 44%
I think that Pres BO is losing because he's disconnected from reality:
First, the Senate Dem plan does not have taxes and keeps all of those "loopholes" in place. In other words, the Senate Dems have walked away from Pres BO's "balanced approach" rhetoric.
Second, "class warfare" is not governing. In fact, "class warfare" is divisive, corrosive and poisons the political dialogue.
Third, Pres BO did not offer a plan of his own. He spoke for 20 minutes and did not tell us the name of a program that he'd be willing to cut or an actual tax that he'd be willing to increase. It's all rhetoric without specifics!
Over the next few days, Speaker Boehner and Majority Leader Reid will move on with their plans and leave Pres BO behind. (The WSJ nailed it with their editorial: A leadership default!)
