The Obama administration is avoiding the ATF guns to Mexico scandal. However, time is running out!
First, Congress is getting tired of AG Holder's unwillingness to answer questions!
Second, we've just learned that there was a Central American version of "fast and furious" or guns going to Honduras.
Third, Mexican political opinion is properly angry about the Obama administration "selling" 2,000 weapons to bad people who killed their countrymen. It will be a big issue in the upcoming election, as Jose de la Isla commented last week.
Fourth, we learned that Jaime Zapata's family wants information:
"Five months after U.S. immigration agent Jaime Zapata was shot to death by a Mexican drug cartel, his family is demanding to know whether the weapons were purchased in the United States and smuggled into Mexico under the now-defunct Fast and Furious operation." (Serrano)
How is Pres BO tackling the controversy?
They've decided to change the conversation with new rules for gun purchases in the Southwest.
However, Gov Perry is right! He called on Pres BO to target criminals and protect our border!
Contrary to fantasies promoted south of the border, Mexico's cartels do not purchase the bulk of their guns at shops in Dallas. They buy their lethal weapons in the international gun market. The cartels have the liquidity and sophistication to move their dollars around the world.
