A couple of days ago, Pres BO went on CBS and went into "full scare grandmother mode".
Yes, he said that he couldn't guarantee the August checks or direct deposits to millions of seniors, including my parents.
Pres BO is wrong on the numbers and the "scare grandma" tactics are despicable.
First, we have enough money to cover the $49 billion. We collect around $200 billion every month from tax receipts and/or other fees.
Second, Social Security is not part of the budget. It operates independently of the federal government's cash flow.
Besides that, didn't Pres BO tell us that the program is solvent?
Dr Merrill Matthews was on our show last night and he nailed it with this column: What Happened to the $2.6 Trillion Social Security Trust Fund?
Pres BO needs "to eat the peas" and get serious. Or, he needs to explain to my parents about the missing "$2.6" trillion!
