In the future, MLB should consider a couple of changes:
1) Drop the HR Derby. I've seen my share of big guys hitting 450 ft HRs.
2) Let the players, and a special group of reporters, select the roster.
Allow the manager to add 1-2 "emotional" choices, such as a retiring veteran or home town connection.
I remember when Hank Aaron ('75 game in Milwaukee), Carl Yaztremski ('83) and George Grett ('93) got standing ovations. I loved it! Memories are a huge part of following and loving baseball!
3) The game should be an exhibition game not about deciding home filed advantage in the World Series.
Overall, baseball has the best All Star game around. It is the only one that I watch!
