A few days ago, I saw an interesting article comparing Pres BO with the legendary Pres Peron of Argentina, a.k.a. Evita's husband!
This is how Mr. A.H. Miller sees the situation: The Peronist in the White House
Miller is right. Obama is the ultimate "Peronista", i.e. class warfare, telling people what they want to hear and demonizing those who work and pay taxes by calling them "rich".
We saw Obama as Peron in the latest press conference.
First, he does not answer the question about "same sex marriage" because the issue has turned into a nightmare for the left wing base of the Dem party. However, Pres BO conveniently turns into supporter of states' rights by praising the people of New York.
Second, and incredibly, Pres BO states that his administration does not believe that DOMA is constitutional. (This is The Defense of Marriage Act signed by Pres Clinton & GOP Congress)
Since when do presidents decide the constitutionality of laws? Isn't that what the Supreme Court does?
Why doesn't Pres BO call on Congress to change the law? isn't that how the system works?
Third, he calls for immigration reform again. However, he has never sent a proposal to Congress.
Fourth, he goes off against "private jet owners" and "oil companies" for getting preferential treatment.
This is class warfare.
It makes me sick because Pres BO does not talk about the jobs being created by oil companies and private jet owners, or CEOs who are not doing anything illegal by flying from plant to plant.
He cynically forgets to say that his stimulus from 2009 "....included tax break to promote private jet sales."
Fifth, he talks about entitlement reform but does not provide any specifics.
Sixth, he blames Congress for refusing to pass free-trade deals but forgets to say that his party has tied them up with amendments that have nothing to do with trade.
Seventh, he accuses Congress of a lot of politics over the Libya operation. He forgets to say that the opposition is coming from Dems!
It was depressing to watch.
I guess that the good news is that Americans are buying less and less of Obama, as seen in the latest round of public opinion polls: POLL: Obama 42%, any Republican 46%...
