Why are still waiting for the Colombia Free Trade Agreement?

Whatever happened to the Colombia Free Trade Agreement?   What exactly is the reason for delaying this agreement after the Obama administration came out for it months ago?

According to news reports, the Obama administration wants to tie The CFTA to a vote on providing benefits for unemployed workers.   In other words, Pres BO is having serious troubles explaining to the labor unions why he reversed himself and now supports the CFTA.

What does The CFTA have to do with unemployment?  Nothing!

Don't get me wrong.  I am willing to support programs that teach displaced workers new skills or career assistance.

We ask again: What does The CFTA have to do with displaced US workers?  Again, nothing.

So what's going on?

First, Pres BO is stuck in the past.  He continues to believe that free trade agreements take jobs overseas.

Wrong.  Companies leave because of very high taxes and labor unions who are disconnected with reality.

Here is a question:  Why do companies leave Pres BO's Illinois and not Texas?  Because we have a business friendly climate that supports "job creators" and promotes trade with other countries.  In Texas, we do not believe in "punishing" employers because we understand that it will ultimately punish "employees"!

Second, Pres BO does not understand how the international economy works.  Once again, he is a victim of the left wing philosophy that had so much influence in his life.

How do we keep jobs in the US?  US corporations need tax relief.  We need to cut corporate taxes so that companies can compete in the international arena.

Unfortunately, Pres BO is stuck in the past.  He is living in the 1930's but this is 2011!

By the way, whatever happened to the Mexican trucks under NAFTA?  What's holding that one up too?
