Mexico's fans were obnoxious in the US-Mexico game!

Congratulations to the Mexico team for beating the US, 4-2.

They won fair and square, specially that fantastic 4th goal.  The USA team was weak and could not hold a 2-0 lead.

I hope that the game brought a little bit of relief to Mexico, a nation caught up in a drug war and almost 40,000 deaths!  We know that life is very hard south of the border given the fact that millions have voted with their feet and sought a better life up here.

We also understand that Mexico is very passionate about soccer.   I know that it means a lot to Mexicans when "El Tri" takes the field.

However, shouldn't Mexico's fans show a little respect for the US?  Shouldn't you behave a little better in your neighbor's stadium?  Isn't Pasadena a part of the US?  Whatever happened to common sense?

Last night, many of Mexico's fans were disrespectful and heard booing the US national anthem.  (US soccer team booed in L.A. -- Mexico was 'home team'...)

They showed no consideration for the US, or the country giving them employment so that they can send billions of dollars or "remesas" to their families back home.

Frankly, it was embarrassing to watch on TV.   It was reminiscent of those "immigration marches" of yesteryear with people sticking Mexican flags in your face or carrying placards saying that the US had stolen Texas.

The US team was booed before and after the game.   The post-game ceremony was in Spanish, another disgrace given that English is the language of the US.

What was FIFA, or whoever does this tournament, thinking?  (US goalkeeper calls all-Spanish ceremony a 'disgrace'... )

Did they forget that there were probably 20,000 people in the stands who do not speak Spanish because they live in the US?

Again, we understand sports passion.  However, it would have been nice if Mexico's fans had shown a little more respect for the flag, and the country, that has given them a chance for a better life.

Sorry but it was too much for me, a friend of Mexico, to watch!

My guess is that most Americans did not watch the game.  It was shown on cable but most of the country was watching something else as it usually happens when soccer is on TV.

Honestly, I usually don't watch soccer either but I sat down with my wife to enjoy the game.  We had a little bet and she won!  I won't tell you what this game cost me!

Thankfully, most Americans did not get to watch the "obnoxious Mexican fans" or their pathetic disrespect for the US national anthem.

Again, I did not like it.  It must have been embarrassing for those decent Mexican fans who went there to enjoy a game rather than bashing "los gringos".
