How can we sell weapons to cartels without telling Pres BO or Mexico?

The ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) is composed of good people who put their lives on the line to keep us safe.

Therefore, I am going to give the benefit of the doubt to the ATF, specially since we now know that there was huge opposition inside the agency against this idiotic plan to sell weapons to the cartels.

As we've posted before, we, meaning the US, allowed the cartels to purchase guns and to take them to Mexico.

It "worked" until one of our guys got killed by one of the guns.

Who approved this plan? Who knew about it in the Obama administration?  Who signed the memo authorizing this nonsense?

Last week, the "you know what" hit the fan because Congress wants answers.  Unfortunately, they are not getting answers from the Obama administration.

Assistant AG Welch was ridiculously evasive at the hearings.

Welch's favorite answer was: “We don’t know.”

Rep Issa has released documents from "whistle blowers" that confirm that there was a lot of internal opposition about this program.

The documents also show that Acting ATF Director Melson, and acting Deputy Director Hoover, were briefed regularly and oversaw the program.

Let's stand back and look at this.

First, we sell "weapons" to the Mexican cartels but nobody knows who gave the order.  Who told the gun shop owners to waive the normal requirements?

Second, Pres BO did not talk to Pres Calderon prior to executing the plan.

Third, AG Holder and Pres BO are avoiding answering simple questions.

As a citizen, I am very concerned that an agency can go "rogue" and put weapons over an international border without telling the president of the US or State Department.

We need answers because this is a huge blow to US-Mexico relations and a threat to citizens on both sides who may get killed by the weapons.
