It is now official: The federal government cannot fix the illegal immigration or border security mess.
Pres BO's speech in El Paso was just a cynical ploy to excite "Mexicanos" about 2012 rather than a serious effort to fix a very bad problem.
Unfortunately, the federal government is incapable of a bipartisan coalition that will protect the border and provide "the guest worker visas" that the country needs.
So let the states do it!
Let the states find local solutions that make sense in Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, et al.
Let's start with Arizona.
The US-Mexico border in Arizona has turned into "Cartel Road". Arizona is caught between cartels running the Mexican side of the border and a federal government that does not want to defend our sovereignty.
Do you blame the people of Arizona for trying to take back their state from cartels and criminals?
I don't!
Texas has the best economy in North America. Texas has a huge economic relationship with Mexico.
Texas has also benefited from NAFTA. We are not anti-NAFTA like the Obama administration and the Dems in Congress.
We understand Mexico a lot better than the Obama White House. We have a border economy that creates jobs on both sides.
Why not let Gov Perry sit down with the governors of Chihuahua and Nuevo Leon and negotiate a bilateral immigration package?
Let the governors sit down and fix the problem. They understand the problem whereas Pres BO just wants to excite "mexicanos" for 2012.
My guess is that governors are more "solutions oriented" and will get to an immigration package that protects the border and promotes their economies.
