Why doesn't the Obama administration designate the Mexican cartels as terrorists and a threat to our national security?

We were very happy to read The Dallas Morning News' lead editorial today: Let’s call Mexico’s cartels what they are: terrorists

"It’s time to take the gloves off and stop treating these cartels as Mexican versions of the neighborhood pusher. These gangs have murdered 35,000 people since 2006 — more than 10 times the number killed in the 9/11 attacks.

That’s terrorism."

Don't look far:  Just look at the murder rate and the brutality exhibited in Cd Juarez, the city on the other side of El Paso, TX.

Why don't we call them terrorists?   or like Al Qaeda?  Frankly, what is the difference?

It will allow us to deploy a wider range of tactics and to go after their money in the US.  It will also persuade the Mexicans that we are serious about what is going on south of the border.

Why haven't we done it?

Why haven't we placed a US Army division with the capability of taking out gangs crossing the border?

Why is the Obama administration so weak in protecting our sovereignty, lives and property?

The answer is the "very incompetent" Sec Napolitano, the same woman who recently told us that the border was secure.

She said what?  Has Sec Napolitano spoken to any ranchers from Arizona?  Is she aware of what is happening in small towns in Sonora overrun by cartels?

What planet is Sec Napolitano living in?  It can not be the same one where the people of the US-Mexico border are living in!

Of course, the border is not secure and Pres BO should have dismissed her over those remarks.  Nobody is buying it, specially the people on the border who are watching well armed gangs walk on their property every night: Arizona Sheriff Questions Napolitano’s Claim That Border Is More Secure Than Ever.

Rep McCaul of Texas is right.  We need to "wake up" the Obama administration to the war taking place just a few yards on the other side of El Paso or Laredo.

P.S. Let's get serious because things are getting very "bad" in Mexico. (59 bodies found in Mexico mass graves)

Why won't the Obama administration protect US citizens and their property from lethal intruders?
