Ruben Navarrette is the latest Hispanic to jump off the Obama-mania bandwagon. Today, he posted: The Obama Two-Step
Ruben states the obvious:
"It's where Obama tells Latino audiences that he's a champion of comprehensive reform while doing everything he can to keep it off the Democrats' agenda in Congress."
You can't put it any better than that!
Since he started "the hope and change" campaign in 2007, BO has been talking one way and doing nothing.
Did Pres BO submit an immigration proposal to the Dem majority? No, no, no!
Did Pres BO tell Congress to vote for The Dream Act before the election? No, no, no!
Did candidate BO take cheap shots at NAFTA during the 2008 campaign?
Yes, yes, yes!
Will Pres BO deliver another meaningless "Cinco de Mayo" speech calling on Congress to pass an immigration reform plan? Yes, yes yes!
Will Pres BO follow up the "Cinco de Mayo" speech with a specific proposal?
He didn't in 2009, 2010 and my guess is that he won't in 2011!
Will Pres BO support any meaningful public education reforms so that Hispanic families can choose better schools for their children?
No, he will continue the carry the teachers' union water and work against any common sense reforms. He will also continue to send his daughters to private schools, just like he did when he was an unknown state senator in Illinois.
Ruben is right.
My guess is that more and more Hispanics are catching on and looking at BO a lot different these days!
