How to attract more Hispanics to our side in 2012?

As we approach 2012, we must remember two things:

First, Hispanics are a larger share of the voting class than ever; and,

Second, no party has a lock on Hispanics.

We spoke today with Israel Ortega of The Heritage Foundation.  He is overseeing Libertad.org and working with the Spanish media in the US.

I believe that the GOP should focus on 3 major issues:

1) Jobs and prosperity

Hispanics are generally small business owners and  have the same entrepreneurial yearning of every immigrant group that has come to the US.

Let's talk about the devastating impact of Pres BO's taxes, BO-Care mandates and the regulations strangling businesses.

2) Let the parents choose schools rather than the teachers' unions

Most Hispanics are attending crumbling city schools.  Why not give Hispanics parents a "voucher" so that they can choose a school?  They can "choose" to attend a public school or they can choose something else.

Let the parents decide.

3) Let's remind Hispanics that we do not support abortion or same-sex marriage.

Why didn't candidate BO talk about his pro-abortion policies before Hispanics in 2008?  Because he knew that it was a loser before Hispanics, specially Hispanic women.

I don't think that social issues will dominate 2012 politics.  However, let's remind Hispanics that we are pro-life and Dems are pro-abortion.

Again, 2012 offers a great opportunity to increase our support with Hispanics.  Polls show that Hispanics are disenchanted with Pres BO for failing to fulfill a campaign promise about immigration reform.

Let's talk about "work visas" for good people working up here.  Let's expand our economic ties with Mexico so that more Mexicans can find opportunities in their country.

We have an opportunity to reach Hispanics in 2012, specially now that they've learned that Pres BO is great at "talking" rather than governing.
