The "cranky" side of "hope and change"!

We spoke with Frank Burke, businessman and contributor to American Thinker.

Frank, a guest in our show, recently posted this article about Pres BO's managerial style:

"In classic management theory, Barack Obama would have to be described as an abdicative manager.

The abdicative manager evidences a tendency to flee from responsibility and is frequently encountered in situations where he or she never wanted the job in the first place (for instance, a son or daughter who inherits a company or the individual who discovers that they are incapable of adequate performance).

Abdication can be exhibited in a variety of ways, ranging from physically removing oneself through travel (the confusion of movement with action), to obsessing about personal interests or a limited range of controllable subjects."

We discussed Pres BO's interview with Dallas reporter Brad Watson.  This is the one where Pres BO "snapped" at Mr Watson off camera.

Why is Pres BO so irritable lately?

Is Pres BO in over his head?  Is he unable to react to the pressures of the presidency?  Does he like executive work, i.e. making  hard decisions rather than telling 18-year olds what they want to hear?

Nobody knows the answer.  However, we've seen a personality change in Pres BO since he became president.

Daniel Henninger of The Wall Street Journal has a great post about it:

"The Barack Obama we've been seeing lately is a different personality than the one that made a miracle run to the White House in 2008.

Obama.2008 was engaging, patient, open, optimistic and a self-identified conciliator.

Obama.2011 has been something else—testy, petulant, impatient, arrogant and increasingly a divider."

This is true.  This is not the same man who gave meaningless "hope and change" speeches before adoring crowds in 2008.

This is now a man who is dealing with the realities of governing.  Worse than that, he does not seem to be enjoying it.
