It's been a very bad week for "the anti-Bush" and all of those who voted for change.
First, we read this from Steve Thomas:
"He ran as the anti-Bush.
Silver-tongued, not tongue-tied.
A team player on the world stage, not a lone cowboy.
A man who'd put a stop to reckless Bush policies at home and abroad.
In short, Barack Obama represented Change.
Well, that was then.
Now, on one major policy after another, President Barack Obama seems to be morphing into George W. Bush."
From Iraq to GITMO to anti-terror policies to executive signing statements, the anti-Bush is Bush III.
How did this happen? How did the anti-Bush turn into Bush III?
First, candidate Obama ran an irresponsible campaign. He made stupid promises in front of people who were too dumb to understand that the candidate was just telling them what they wanted to hear.
Beyond the voters, candidate BO faced a media desperately caught up in the "historic nature" of his candidacy. The media did not take the time to ask him a serious question, such as how he planned to close GITMO.
Now, we have to read stories about how he is governing so much like Pres Bush!
Of course, it gets better when we read Pres & Mrs Obama's tax returns:
"According to a tax calculator provided by the Tax Foundation, the Obama family saved about $100,000 compared to what they would have paid if the president and Congress had let the Bush tax cuts expire." (NYPost)
I think that he should return "the Bush savings"! The media should call on Pres BO to return it.
