The AP has an interesting story about Pres BO & "the yes we can screamers":
"Barack Obama rode a wave of voter passion in 2008 fed largely by intense dislike of President George W. Bush and the Iraq war, plus excitement among young and minority voters at the notion of electing the nation's first black president.
Now, as Obama cranks up his re-election campaign, all those factors are absent."
What's happened to "the yes we can" mania of 2008?
First, BO won the election. In other words, he was forced to make decisions in the real world.
Second, Pres BO has kept in place Pres Bush's anti-terror program. Candidate BO ran against it....Pres BO has been forced to keep it in place because it has kept the country safe.
Third, Pres BO's governing style is aloof. He comes across as detached from day to date events.
Fourth, Pres BO did not "fight" for an immigration reform. It was one of his biggest promises of 2008 and secured a large Hispanic vote.
It's too early to talk about 2012. However, it's not too early to admit that Pres BO has a "base" problem.
