Why is Pres Regan still so popular?
First, and foremost, he was a great president.
Second, he changed our political conversation and inspired a whole generation of conservatives.
In 1974, many conservatives wee demoralized after Watergate. We yearned for fresh leadership and that's when Ronald Reagan walked on the stage.
I am old enough to remember Election night 1980. It was one of the most exciting moments ever.
