Pres BO just threw fiscal responsibility under the bus.
Pres BO decided "leading" is not his "job".......he's rather be that candidate who told the "yes we can" screamers what they want to hear.
Remember when he blasted Pres Bush over budget deficits?
However, wouldn't you love to have Pres Bush's deficits?
Pres BO's budget includes $ 1 trillion deficits for years.
It assumes that the federal government can continue to borrow money without consequences.
At the end of the day, it is irresponsible to continue adding more and more debt without higher interest rates, a collapse of the dollar, and making it more difficult for our private sector to create jobs, i.e. taxpayers!
How many more times can we kick this can forward?
We agree with The Washington Post:
"The larger problem with the budget is the administration's refusal to confront the hard choices that Mr. Obama is so fond of saying must be faced."
We like USA Today:
"President Obama likes to talk about those "Sputnik moments" when the nation rises to difficult challenges like the one posed by the Soviet space program in the 1950s.
On Monday, he had a chance to turn his federal budget proposal into his own such moment.
We think that The Dallas Morning News is right on target:
"More to the point, the president’s $3.73 trillion budget for fiscal 2012 does nothing substantial about the real source of the nation’s spending problems:
the entitlement programs that eat up most of America’s annual spending. Social Security, Medicare and the others on the list of programs that Congress must automatically fund each year are what every expert from Washington to Beijing will tell you are making it impossible for the nation to control its annual deficits and accumulated debt."
Where is presidential leadership when we really need it?
